Report: Darling Files Lawsuit to Stop Recall Election

Lawsuit claims those who gathered signatures against her filed their initial paperwork with the state improperly.

State Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) filed a lawsuit Tuesday to stop a recall election according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Patrick Marley.

The newspaper says Darling’s lawsuit claims the election planned for July 12 should not be held because those who gathered signatures against her filed their initial paperwork with the state improperly.

In addition, Republicans facing recall say if the elections are held, they will run fake Democrats in recall races, to force a primary and push the election out another month, to Aug. 9, according to Marley's report.
