Report: Ads Saying Pasch Voted for State Aid Cuts for Schools Are True
PolitiFact finds Pasch voted in favor of cutting state aid to schools by nearly $300 million in 2009.
The conservative group, Club for Growth Wisconsin’s, claim in radio ads that state Rep. Sandy Pasch voted to cut school aid by nearly $300 million were found to be “true” by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s PolitiFact.
The political fact-checking site said during the process for the 2009-2011 budget, Pasch (D-Whitefish Bay) voted in favor of then Gov. Jim Doyle’s budget, which cut general aid to schools by $294 million.
Pasch joined all but two Assembly Democrats in voting in favor of the spending plan, the site says.

PolitiFact says Pasch spokesperson Gillian Morris understood that state aid cuts were offset by $877 million in federal stimulus funds.
However, the site said that according to the fiscal bureau and Department of Public Instruction, the $294 million reduction took into account the additional stimulus funds, and didn’t offset state education cuts.
