Parking Restrictions Imposed to Stop UWM Students from Parking in Shorewood

The southeastern portion of Shorewood will change to two hour during the day, starting July 15.

New parking restrictions, in the village's southeastern corner, will go into effect July 15 to keep University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students from parking in Shorewood.

In the area stretching west from North Lake Drive to North Oakland Avenue and south from East Capitol Drive to East Edgewood Avenue will be limited to two-hour parking from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Village Board approved the new ordinance back in February, after Shorewood residents complained about UWM students parking in the area all day, leaving little street parking.
