Obama Leads Romney by 8 Points in New Marquette Poll

Marquette University released the last poll results before the Nov. 6 election on Wednesday.

The race between President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney appears to be shifting once again, according to a new Marquette University poll.

Obama leads Romney by eight points in the latest poll results, 51 percent to 43 percent in the state.

with Obama garnering 49 percent of respondents' votes to Romney's 48 percent.

This poll was conducted after all presidential debates were held, and Professor Charles Franklin, director of the polling project, said the polls reflect how well voters feel their candidate performed.

Among most interested likely voters, Obama still retains the lead, albeit a much smaller one with 48 points to Romney's 46 percent.

When it comes to the US Senate candidates, Democrat Tammy Baldwin comes out on top once again. Two weeks ago, former Gov. Tommy Thompson led Baldwin by just a point, 46 to 45 percent.

Now, Baldwin is garnering 47 percent of the vote, while Thompson gets 43 percent of the vote, just outside the margin of error.

Voters who are classified as the most intersted likely voters still choose Baldwin over Thompson, but only by a point; 47 percent to 46 percent.

The poll was conducted from Oct. 25-28, 2012 amongst 1,243 likely voters by landline and cell phone with a 2.8 percent margin of error.

A total of 1,404 registered voters were interviewed and that sample has a 2.7 percent margin of error.

I saw Obama yesterday claiming the new job numbers are proof that his policies are working and that we are in an economic recovery... Fact is, that is not the truth, or even close to the truth... First, the unemployment rate ticked up to 7.9% and the year-to-date monthly average of 157,000 payroll jobs is barely enough to keep up with population growth -- much less make up for the 8 million jobs lost during the Great Recession. Second, the so-called real unemployment rate (U6) remains elevated at 14.6%, albeit down from 14.7% the prior month. Similarly, the labor participation rate is at 63.8%, up from its multi-decade low but still incredibly weak. Third, average hourly earnings fell a penny in October and average hours worked fell to 34.4 from 34.5 in September. Stagnant wages means "we're not generating income," Reinhart says. "That's a problem in terms of the durability of an economic expansion, which is usually fueled by consumption. To get consumption you've got to generate income." Also, just look at your checkbook. We are paying a lot more for everything now than we did in 2008. The price of gas has doubled. At the same time, wages have gone down, and that's if you're lucky to have a job. In 2008, 25 banks went out of business. In 2012, 48 banks have gone out of business. Almost double the amount. Does that sound like recovery to you? Don't believe the Obama lies!! Romney/Ryan 2012

Please don't let Obama sweep Benghazi under the rug... Lets not forget those four who were left to be slaughtered in Benghazi...
