Bockhorst told Patch Tuesday night she has been campaigning since December, and its great to see her hard work pay off.

"It has been a very positive experience and throughout I have met thousands of people and I've learned a lot," she said. "I imagine that serving as trustee will take that same energy.

"I look forward to working with the current trustees. I look forward to working on walkability, sustainability issues, and working with the residents. And increasing not only the outreach, but the communication in the village."

Linnane said, "It was a privilege to be in such a rigorous and competitive campaign along with two great candidates by Tammy and Paul."

"I truly appreciate the generous and enthusiastic support I received from Shorewood residents, and an honored to have the opportunity to serve on the Shorewood Village Board for another three years," Linnane said of retaining his seat on the Village Board.

"Congrats to Tammy and I look forward to working with her for the next three years on behalf of all of the residents of Shorewood. We have plenty of challenges in front of us; I want to bring to each of those challenges the same level of commitment."

While he said he was obviously disappointed with results of Tuesday night's election results, Zovic said he was also disappointed by the low voter turnout.

Bockhorst and Linnane will serve three-year terms with a $1,000 annual salary.

On the School Board side, three incumbents — board President Rob Reinhoffer with 1,345 votes or 28 percent; board Vice President Colin Plese grabbing 1,346 or 28 percent; and member Paru Shah garnered 1,213 votes (25 percent) — retained their seats.

Gregg Davis was on the ballot, but announced he was dropping out of the race in January. He still collected 826 votes or 17 percent.

The winners will serve three-year terms. Plese and Shah will earn $1,000 annually and Reinhoffer, as president, will earn $1,200 yearly.

Voter turnout was low in Shorewood, with nearly 30 percent of registered voters casting a ballot, according to election officials.

A Board of Canvassers will meet later this week or early next week to verify election results. Until then, all results are deemed unofficial.
