With a little more than a week to go until , a national tea party group on Monday released a TV ad in which the son of President Ronald Reagan invokes the memory of his father while giving his strong support to Gov. Scott Walker.
In the ad, paid for by the Campaign To Defeat Barack Obama, Michael Reagan, a conservative commentator, compares Wisconsin's Republican governor to his father and even uses the phrase: "Win this one for the Gipper."
"We need leaders like Scott Walker," Reagan says in the ad. "He's a reminder of somebody named Reagan from a long time ago.
"Scott Walker, because of what he's doing, has turned a negative into a positive — bringing businesses back into Wisconsin (and) getting people back into Wisconsin," Regan adds. "Why in the world would the people in Wisconsin want to go back to those days of yesteryear — when the budget was out of control, jobs were not available — is beyond me."
The ad then includes some testimonials from Walker supporters from around Wisconsin and wraps up with Reagan saying: "Win this one for the Gipper," a line that Ronald Reagan used in the film "Knute Rockne: All American" and later throughout his presidency.
The ad is just the latest example of how national tea party organizations have been lining up to show their support of Walker, who is facing Democrat Tom Barrett in the June 5 recall election.
The Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama has been sending fundraising emails out all over the country, usually linking the Wisconsin recall election to Obama's re-election campaign.
And last week, the national , who is being challenged by Democrat Mahlon Mitchell in the recall election.
The Tea Party Express also will bring its "Reclaiming Our Future" bus tour to Wisconsin from Friday until Election Day. The tour in support of Walker, Kleefisch and the four Republican senators also being targeted for recall, will make stops as far north as Rhinelander and as far south as Racine.
In January, Wisconsin Grandsons of Liberty and We The People of the Republic recruited nearly 10,000 volunteers to .

You make the claim that the right is guilty of using 'fear based' tactics. Perhaps you need to take a look in the mirror and the stuff that the anti-Walker crowd has been posting. You really don't see how making a statement that indicates that Walker is 'out to destroy the democratic republic' isn't fear based rhetoric? The overblown statements about 'republicans promoting environmental damage' seem to be fear based as well. Even though you didn't mention them above, I would also consider the claims about Walker's "draconian" cuts to education, the doubling of class sizes, and the mass teacher layoffs to be fear mongering as well. Ever since Walker's BRB was proposed, we have been hearing the doomsayers on the left promising us doubling of class sizes, mass teacher layoffs, etc.
Relatives who lived in the D.C. area during the Reagan era shared a number of the political (and other) rumors that continuously sweep through our nation's capitol. If they are to be believed, Reagan's Alzheimer symptoms were present from almost the beginning of his first term. Out of an 8-hour work day, Reagan "worked" about 5. He typically took a three-hour nap in the afternoon. His wife Nancy (former actress who majored in English and drama at Smith) apparently made quite a few political and hiring decisions because of her husband's growing infirmity (and which was resented by a number of WH staff). As governor of California I believe Reagan proposed what's been described as the largest tax hike proposed by any governor in U.S. history (c. 1967). He raised the top income rate. He raised sales tax. Cigarette tax. Alcohol tax. Bank/corporate tax rate. Inheritance tax rate. He inherited a deficit from his predecessor and realized that program cuts alone weren't going to fix the problem. So why the about-face? I would surmise that due to his illness, Reagan relied on his wife (who used an astrologer), and appointees. How many of the decisions made were his, and how many were theirs?
This nation was founded on the principle of FREEDOM.
Now - more importantly re: your comment about Kissinger: Why would anyone want to align themselves with Kissinger? (see next post)
I have no idea why anyone would align themselves with Kissinger but if you take the time to think for yourself and brush the surface clean you will see that your ideology of big government falls right in line with the very desires those people have for you. Like I stated earlier the Bilderberg group is meeting right now discussing their next move.
Question for you? So lets take the Omish for example. Im guessing your feelings about them are pretty much the same!! They are very real people who do not adopt the ideologys of the left or the right!! They believe in hard work, helping thy neighbor and the difference there is not helping thy neighbor who takes advantage of the help he/she recieves. Tosa the majority of the Tea Party movement are real people. Your every day father, wife, husband. Real people with values and morals, hard working people. Its funny how you all on the left feel that a 120 dollar college education puts you above those who maybe did not attend college or limited college. Hmmmmmmm sounds like you have placed yourself above the rest? Logic differs from common sense!! Again because you or anyone else has had 6 years, 8 years or more of college does not make them smarter or better than someone with say 2 years or less when it comes to our basic rights

Jesus said "If you do this to the least of my brethren, etc." Well, after much observation, I feel the right is "sticking it" to the least of our brethren. End of story - you can keep up your rant on this if you like, but I am sticking up for my personal decisions regarding this crop of legislators & their intentions. I am not egotistical as you have proclaimed, nor callous as you suggest. I am 70, &throughout my life (whether public or private sector) have been in service to others. I worked as a waitress, then later in community orgs & as director of a mid size soc serv agency to being supervisor & mgr in a very large corp. Throughout , I have stayed true to my commitment to be of service wherever. End of my rant.Toodles!
Concerning "we have no freedoms," anarchy doesn't promote productive or long life. What those who have forgotten their U.S. history believe to be "Government telling us what's best" is actually democracy in action, involving legislative processes that has taken place over generations, in some cases. The former USSR, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; China, the Third Reich; these represent socialism. If the U.S. is to avoid becoming socialist, it needs to send the Tea Party/GOP out of the mainstream and back to the far right fringe where it belongs.
