Meeting About Senior Living Facility Canceled

The commission was unable to reach a quorum for the first public airing of a senior living facility proposal at the former Riverbrook Restaurant site.

A Shorewood Plan Commission meeting about an 88-unit senior living facility at the former Riverbrook Restaurant site was canceled due to lack of a quorum, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal. The meeting was rescheduled for July 16.

The meeting was to be the first public airing of the proposal from Florida-based harbor Retirement Associates, which has proposed 36 memory-care and 52 assisted-living units on the south side of Capitol Drive, between the Milwaukee River and the Oak Leaf Trail. Shorewood's approval process will involve citizen meetings, as well as review by Shorewood’s Community Development Authority, Plan Commission and the Village Board.
