Expert To Discuss Childhood Concussions During Booster's Club Event

Kevin Walker, a leading physician in the area of childhood concussions, will give a presentation to parents, student-athletes and coaches at 7 p.m.

Kids and concussions will be the topic during the Shorewood Athletic Booster Club's second speaker series event on Tuesday. 

Kevin Walker, a leading physician in the area of childhood concussions, will give a presentation to parents, student-athletes and coaches at 7 p.m. in the Shorewood High School library.

"Walter will share his wealth of knowledge," said the press release from the booster club. "He will discuss prevention for, signs of, symptoms of, and treatment for concussions. "

Dr. Walter is the director of one of the only clinics for childhood concussions in the country at Children's Hospital.  

"It's a brain injury," Walter said during an interview with Fox 6 in March. "It's not just an injury on the athletic field, it affects them at home, with sleep, with friends and relationships and, most importantly, with academics."
