60-Unit Apartment Plans Approved for East Sauk Road, Harris Drive

The Port Washington Plan Commission approved a proposal including five buildings with a mix of one- and two-bedroom units.

Editor's note: This article has been updated to reflect a correction. The original article called the developments condos when it is actually an apartment project.

The Port Washington Plan Commission is apparently happy with updated plans for a 60-unit apartment development on the northwest corner of East Sauk Road and Harris Drive after originally meeting the project with some opposition.

The commission approved the updated proposal by Premier Real Estate Development — which includes exterior aesthetic changes as well as more landscaping and less asphalt — during its meeting on Thursday.

"This developer has a very good track record and his company's projects have been well received in other communties," City Planner Randy Tetzlaff wrote in a report to the commission. "Quite frankly, he was not too pleased by some of the comments made and the overall tone of the (first meeting, when the plans were denied.)"

The development includes five buildings with a mix of one- and two-bedroom units. .

what exactly is your point here?

That its pretty much impossible to find decent apartments in this county.

Perfect spot for commercial development. Of course, we will do something else in our quest to become a bedroom community.

@Solo Two. There probably isn't much of a market because those who want an above average apartment usually buy a condo or house. I know not everybody wants to own but that's my theory, anyway.

I do agree......a good quality apartment complex is worth its weight in GOLD......I would love to rent...but can not even find a good apartment in this area. I don't want to buy a condo... Look at the condo fees...and you will know why!!! A condo feels like a nice apartment......but it is not a HOME..... I like the freedom on not having to invest my $$$$ in another building when I've done this already twice!!! I'd gladly rent a NICE apartment... now.....at my age!!!!
