A 40-year-old Milwaukee woman has pleaded not guilty to one felony charge after police say she attempted to obtain Oxycodone with a fraudulent prescription at a Shorewood pharmacy.

On March 4, an officer responded to Family Pharmacy, 3512 N. Oakland Ave., for a report of a woman still on scene attempting to fill a fraudulent prescription. Upon police arriving, they took Propst and a male driver into custody as they attempted to leave the pharmacy in a car.

An employee told police Propst was in the pharmacy attempting to fill a prescription for 120 pills of 30mg Oxycodone. The pharmacist told police he called the doctor whose signatures was on the prescription and was informed the prescription was not valid. He handed over a copy to police of the prescription written out to Propst, and a photocopy of her identification card, which she presented with the prescription.

Shorewood detectives later faxed a copy of the prescription to the prescribing doctor’s office, which told them it was fraudulent.

During an interrogation, Propst told a detective she was filling the prescription for her male friend. She initially said she understood the prescription was written out to her, then later denied knowing, and added she didn't know where her friend got it.

Propst is due back in court April 10 for a scheduling conference, according to online court records.
