Woman Accused of Stabbing Boyfriend During Argument

Police say the victim didn't report his girlfriend was responsible for the stabbing because he wasn't sure if he wanted her to get in trouble.

A 24-year-old Shorewood woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend with a pair of kitchen shears during an argument inside their apartment.

Ashley J. Marie Wick was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Friday with one count of second-degree reckless endangerment and one count of aggravated battery. If convicted, she faces up to eight years in prison and $35,000 in fines.

On Dec. 31, Wick walked into Walgreens and told employees her boyfriend had been stabbed. Rescue workers were called to the store and found the victim with blood coming down his leg and stab wounds to his torso. He was taken to Froedtert Hospital to be treated for his wounds.

Wick was adamant at the scene that she didn’t want to talk with police officers or have them at the scene.

On Tuesday, the victim’s mother contacted the Shorewood Police Department, saying her son had told her Wick had stabbed him with kitchen shears inside their apartment in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue.

Police interviewed the victim and he said he had been arguing with Wick when she pulled the shears out of a knife block and stabbed him in the back. At the time Wick apparently said “I freaked out,” and that “I didn’t think it would go in that deep.”

The victim said Wick had been violent in the past but he didn’t tell police she stabbed him because he was unsure if he wanted her to get in trouble.

Wick is currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail while awaiting trial.
