Winter Weather Causes Two Vehicle Accidents

Police say take proper precautions when driving during the winter storm.

The wonderful sledding weather in Shorewood has caused two accidents thus far according to Shorewood police.

Though there isn't much information right now, police say they have reports of two accidents — one at the intersection of East Capitol Drive and North Oakland Avenue and other accident at North Lake Drive and East Capitol Drive. However, there were no serious injuries reported.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Milwaukee County ending at midnight including snow accumulations of 3-5 inches of snow and winds out of the south at 10-20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Police say reducing your speed, increasing the stopping distance and ensuring all snow is removed from you car before taking off can help in avoiding an accident.
