Two Arrested for Third Offense Drunken Driving

Three OWI arrests made last week by local police, including 25-year-old Fox Point man after he struck two traffic signal poles, ripping them from the ground.

A 25-year-old Fox Point man arrested for his third drunken driving offense Sunday morning after crashing into and ripping two traffic signals poles from the ground, wasn’t the only driver taken into custody for operating while intoxicated last week.

Police arrived to the scene of the accident near the intersection of East Capitol Drive and North Oakland Avenue at 3:35 a.m. to find the two poles lying in the road and the driver’s car stopped in the 3500 block of Oakland Avenue, with front-end damage and the Fox Point man still in the car.

Police say the man failed a field sobriety test and authorities are waiting on the results of blood test to determine his blood alcohol content at the time of the accident.
