Two Armed Robberies on Shorewood Sidewalks

Two men with guns robbed victims of their wallets and cell phones.

Two armed robberies were reported last week in Shorewood:

  • A man walking eastbound in the 1400 block of Elmdale Court was punched in the face by two men at 10:52 p.m. Saturday. They took his cell phone and a wallet containing cards and $4 in cash. One of the muggers – described as 16 to 20 years old in age – displayed a gun during the robbery. The two robbers then fled the scene on bicycles. The victim refused medical treatment.
  • A man walking in the 3500 block of Maryland Avenue was approached on the sidewalk by two men with guns at 11:44 p.m. July 1. They took his iPhone and wallet containing credit cards and $78 in cash. Nobody was injured.
In other Shorewood police reports:
  • Three bicycles, a lawn mower and a shop vacuum were taken from a detached garage in the 1800 block of Menlo Boulevard sometime between 4:30 p.m. on July 6 and 3 p.m. on July 7. The garage was locked, so the thief had to force entry.
  • A home was entered in the 3500 block of Lake Drive at 3:11 a.m. Sunday. The homeowner was not home at the time. An iPad and laptop computer were stolen, and numerous drawers were opened and rummaged through. The incident is still under investigation.
  • A bottle of vodka was stolen from Pick 'n Save at 8:42 a.m. Monday.
