Kick to Cop's Groin Leads to Charges

A 23-year-old Whitefish Bay man is accused of kicking a Shorewood officer in the groin while being taken into custody.

A 23-year-old Whitefish Bay man is facing charges for allegedly kicking a Shorewood police officer in the testicles while being taken into custody.

Robert J. Johnson was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of disorderly conduct and two counts of obstructing an officer. If convicted, he faces up to 21 months in prison and $21,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

At 4:44 a.m. Saturday, Whitefish Bay police officers were called to a home in the 4800 block of North Anita Avenue after someone reported Johnson was outside smashing the windows out of a car in the alley. When they arrived, they found a Chrysler PT Cruiser with its windows smashed out and Johnson had gone inside where a witness had heard him yell something about stabbing his mother.

Police entered the home in an emergency fashion and found the inside in disarray and Johnson laying on a mattress where he was arrested. His mother said the PT Cruiser is titled in her name, but it belongs to her son and asked her son not be charged with anything.

Johnson was arrested anyways and began to shout homophobic slurs at the officers as they took him to a squad car. At the squad, he began to resist and eventually was placed in the squad with the assistance of a Shorewood police officer who arrived to help.

Johnson spat on the window of the squad, so when they arrived in the sallyport of the Whitefish Bay Police Station, they placed a spit bag in his head before transporting him inside. As they were walking, Johnson suddenly kicked backwards, hitting the Shorewood officer in the testicles with the heel of his foot, causing the officer great pain.

Johnson was eventually secured by officers and taken inside.

He’s currently free on $450 bond while awaiting trial.

First problem - mom is seriously enabling her son by not wanting charges pressed. Second - she should have never posted his bail. Pathetic. This is what is becoming wrong with our society.
