SHS Student Arrested After Police Find Marijuana in Car

After school officials call police for a illegally parked vehicle, police find pot in plain view.

A 18-year-old senior was arrested Wednesday after police found a small amount of marijuana, narcotics and and a stolen football helmet in his car while it was parked on school grounds, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.

After the assistant principal called police because the student’s vehicle was parked illegally, police observed the marijuana and the narcotic prescription pills, which were obtained without a prescription, in plain view through a window.

Police say the assistant principal called the boy to the high school’s main office and the student later agreed to allow police to search the car.
