On June 26, West Milwaukee police officers were called to Emilia’s Grotto, 5501 W. National Ave., after they reported Gaar had stolen $486 in cash from the bar. They said she had been in the business to pick up her last check and took the money, which was sitting in an envelope with the paychecks.
Gaar admitted to the theft and told officers she was upset with the manager for firing her, so she decided to take the money to “get back at him.”
