Local girl accused of burying infant in garden bed will appear for a delinquency hearing on Feb. 20.

The 17-year-old about a week later, will be bound to a delinquency hearing later this month.

Milwaukee County Children's Court Judge Karen E. Christenson will hear the case on Feb. 20, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The teen was charged in November with one count of concealing the death of a child after she allegedly gave birth to a baby on Aug. 17, believed the newborn wasn’t breathing, stashed the infant's body in a shoe box in her nightstand for at least a week, and eventually put the body into plastic bags and placed it in a hole in the flower bed on the side of her home.

She told police she performed CPR after cutting the umbilical cord and placing it in a shoebox, but the newborn didn’t respond. The girl’s mother later noticed the foul smell coming from the garden while taking out recyclables, found the shallow grave and called police.
