Shorewood Police Arrest Alleged Car Thief

Shorewood police arrested an 18-year-old Milwaukee man who allegedly stole a car on Kensington Boulevard Thursday morning.

Maurice Anderson was charged with the crime in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. If convicted, he faces a maximum six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

The car, a 1998 Dodge Intrepid, was parked in the 2200 block of Kensington Boulevard when it was stolen at 10:11 a.m. on Aug. 29. The owner, who was doing landscaping work across the street, left the keys in the ignition, according to the criminal complaint.

The vehicle owner flagged down a police officer, and shortly thereafter, Shorewood squads stopped the vehicle at Capitol Drive and Humboldt Boulevard, according to the criminal complaint.
