Shorewood Man Guilty of Child Pornography Charges

Former Sport 'n Cuts owner David Foley was convicted Thursday of producing videos of sexually abusing young boys.

A Shorewood man who was a barber in Whitefish Bay was convicted Thursday on federal charges of producing child pornography of underage boys.

David Foley, the former owner of Sport 'n Cuts at 402 E. Silver Spring, was found guilty of three counts of production of child pornography, one count of transportation of a minor across state lines to engage in a sex act, one count of distribution of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography.

Foley was charged one year ago with sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy at his Whitefish Bay barbershop, in his Shorewood apartment and at a hotel near the Mall of America near Minneapolis. Investigators also believed that Foley sexually abused an 11-year-old boy he met through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

Foley led authorities to search his electronic records in August 2010, when he sent FOX6 News investigative reporter Bryan Polcyn a computer disk filled with child pornography. The anonymous package from Foley claimed the disk belonged to Andrew Garrison, who owns Foley's old barbershop building and was seeking $50,000 in unpaid rent, according to FOX6. FOX6 turned the child pornography disk over to authorities, who were able to trace it back to Foley.

Now, two years later, Garrison said he is happy to see justice served.

"I'm glad that they got such an evil person off the street," Garrison told Patch. "The world will be a safer place without him."

At the time the federal charges were issued last year, Foley was also charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with five counts of bail-jumping. Four of the charges were for bank fraud activities he engaged in while another case was pending against him. The fifth charge was for defamation and publishing false information about Garrison.

A jury found Foley guilty of two of the five bail-jumping charges on Oct. 31. The sentencing hearing for the bail jumping charges is scheduled for Dec. 13.

With the guilty verdict in the federal child pornography case coming down Thursday, Foley now awaits a sentencing hearing on Feb. 15.
