Shorewood Home Burglarized while Resident Was Asleep

Police believe the home was illegally entered through an unlocked window. More than $500 worth of property and cash was taken.

A Shorewood home was burglarized and car stolen from the property Monday, while the homeowner was sleeping in the house, police say.

Police believe entry was gained to the home by removing the screen of an unlocked kitchen window. A $200 iPhone, $313 in cash and a Pontiac GrandAm were taken from the residence in the 3500 block of North Murray Avenue.

Police found the stolen Pontiac abandoned in an alleyway in the same block.
