Shorewood Hit with Two Auto Break-ins Monday

Police arrest two Milwaukee men after a witness saw two men rummaging through a neighbor's car.

A couple of Shorewood vehicle owners fell victim to auto break-ins early this week.

Police arrested a 14-year-old man and 18-year-old man, both from Milwaukee, Monday after a resident witnessed the two rummaging through a Toyota Prius inside a neighbor’s garage at about 10 p.m. The neighbor observed the men leave the garage in the 3500 block of North Murray Avenue and called police with a description. Police caught up with the suspects in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive.

A Shorewood resident reported three rings stolen from the center console of his car Monday. He told police the theft occurred in either the 3800 block of North Farwell Avenue or in the 1500 block of East Capitol Drive sometime between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. The car was unlocked at the time of the theft. Police don’t have a value of the stolen items yet.
