Shorewood Hit with String of Auto Break-ins Last Week
Five cars were hit in a parking structure over the weekend.
Seven cars were broken into over a three-day period, in Shorewood last week.
Five cars were forcibly entered overnight on Saturday by busting out their windows in a secure parking structure attached to an apartment in the 1300 block of East Elmdale Court. However, a $150 GPS was the only thing stolen, police say. The damage to the five cars adds up to about $1,000, according to the police report.
Overnight on Thursday, a car parked in the driveway of a home in the 1600 block of East Marion Street was broken into and more than $300 in items were stolen including an iPod, two gift cards, a Nike bag and $15 in cash. The car was unlocked at the time, police say.

Friday, an unlocked car was illegally entered overnight in the 4400 block of North Bartlett Avenue and a $150 GPS and $20 phone charger taken.
