Police Investigation into Armed Robbery of Thompson's Pharmacy Stalled

Police Chief David Banaszynski said video footage was not conclusive, and officers are hoping for new leads or tips related to an armed robbery at Thompson's Pharmacy in early January.

Shorewood Police Chief David Banaszynski said an investigation into an has come to a standstill.

His department hoped surveillance video pulled from , where a lone armed man presented a chrome handgun and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and drugs on Jan. 2, would help close the case. However, the man's face was partially covered and can't be fully identified.

Police did question one suspect, but say he insists it wasn't his face captured on video.

Banaszynski added department investigators were hoping there was DNA left at the scene, but none was found. Police are looking for other leads and working with other police departments on the case.

Shorewood police responded to the drug store at 1421 E. Capitol Drive at about 1 p.m. that Monday, after receiving a hold-up alarm at the pharmacy.

The man, who was wearing a knit cap, black gloves and a black jacket, presented a gun to two employees. No one was hurt during the incident, according to police.
