Police: Woman Who Struck Light Pole, which In Turn Hit a Pedestrian, May Have Been Drunk
Police have cited a 22-year-old Mukwonago woman — who veered off the road striking a light pole mid Saturday afternoon, and sending her and a passenger to the hospital — with suspected OWI. Authorities are waiting on the results of a blood test.
A 22-year-old Mukwonago who was transported to a local hospital, along with her male passenger, after veering off the road and striking a light pole Saturday, has been cited for suspected drunken driving, police say.
At 3:19 p.m., the woman was driving east in the 1200 block of East Capitol Drive when she left the road and struck a light pole. The light pole in turn struck a man waiting at a bus stop with a woman and child in a stroller. The pedestrian sustained minor scratches to a leg, and was able to walk away without medical attention. The female and child pedestrian weren't harmed, police say.
Police say they are waiting on the results of a blood test to confirm the woman was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

It would be the woman's first drunken driving offense, if police follow through with the citation.
