Police Report: 2 Cars Targeted in Walgreens Parking Lot Break-ins

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

Two cars were targeted in break-ins that occurred Monday morning in the parking lot.

In a matter of two minutes, the driver’s side window of one car was smashed out and a purse containing $20 in cash, credit cards and other items was taken, and the driver’s side lock of another car was punched open and a tote bag containing a wallet, $7 in cash and other items was stolen.

The theft occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the parking located at 4081 N. Oakland Ave.

Police say they have not suspects at this time.

  • A purse was reported stolen on Saturday from a prom gathering in the 4400 block of North Frederick Ave. Police say they are gathering more details on the incident.
  • A $120 Nikon camera and some paperwork was reported stolen from the girl’s locker room at , 1701 E. Capitol Dr. The theft occurred sometime between 3:20 and 5:50 p.m. on April 26.
  • A red waffle weave Bottegga Veneta brand wallet valued at $795 was reported stolen on April 26. The victim told police she believes it was taken from her shopping cart while she was at , 4145 N. Oakland Ave. Police say they are reviewing the grocery store's surveillance tapes.
  • A 29-year-old Shorewood woman took a baseball bat to her boyfriend’s car on Monday after an argument, police say. She caused $60 in damage to the car's taillights while it was parked in an alleyway in the 4300 block of North Wilson Drive.
  • A Shorewood man reported his son’s $105 blue and white Trek mountain bicycle stolen on Tuesday from a backyard in the 4500 block of North Newhall Street.
