Police Report: Shorewood Woman Arrested after Found Passed Out in Car

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

Police conducted a welfare check of a 29-year-old Shorewood woman found unresponsive behind the wheel of her 2008 Infinity SUV Saturday. She was parked in the 4500 block of North Oakland Avenue at the time.

Officers were able to wake the woman who admitted to being intoxicated.

She was subsequently arrested under a village ordinance, which prohibits a driver from being intoxicated behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, regardless of whether it is being operated or not.

Also in the police report:

  • A 42-year-old Milwaukee man who was knocking on doors and demanding entry to homes in the 4400 block of North Woodburn Avenue was arrested for disorderly conduct Saturday. Police say the man’s blood alcohol content was .29 and residents told them the man appeared intoxicated and had blood on his chin.
  • A $358 red Craftsman snow blower was reported stolen from a garage in the 4500 block of North Morris Boulevard Saturday. Police say the garage was closed but not locked and the theft occurred between 12:30 and 5:30 p.m
  • A $150 bicycle was reported stolen from a driveway in the 4400 block of North Wildwood Avenue Saturday.
  • A bicyclist sustained minor injuries after a collision with a car near East Capitol Drive and North Woodburn Avenue Oct. 13. The bicyclist was, however, transported to a local hospital for treatment.
  • Police believe a blunt object was used to break the pad lock off of a locker in the boy’s locker room Oct. 13 at , 1701 E. Capitol Dr. Nothing was reported stolen from the locker.
  • Two University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students were stopped Sunday while trying to erect a sign reading, “Mind the GAP" near the Oak Leaf Trail Bridge. The students told police the sign detailed the divide between Shorewood and Milwaukee’s Riverwest area. Police advised the students they would need a permit to put up the sign.
