Police Report: Shorewood Police Nab Alleged Robber

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

A 19-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly attempting to rob a man in the 4000 block of Oakland Avenue at 1 a.m. Friday.

According to police, the robber asked the victim if he had a gun. After the victim said he did not have a gun, the robber said "I do" and proceeded with the crime, police said. The targeted victim, however, kept on walking and the robber ended up with nothing.

Police found the alleged robber in a nearby alley a short time later. He had a knife, rather than a gun, according to police. He faces robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer charges.

Also in the police reports:

  • A CD player was stolen from a black Ford Focus in the 3900 block of North Morris Boulevard between 3 p.m. Friday and 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
  • A 20-year-old man was taken into custody for two Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department warrants in the 3900 block 9:45 p.m. Saturday. Police went to the scene to respond to a call regarding a fight in progress.
