Police Report: Tires, Rims Stolen Off Car; Political Sign Thrown Through Window

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police log.

A Shorewood resident reported the driver’s side tires and rims stolen off their car, sometime overnight on Saturday, while it was parked in the 3600 block of North Oakland Avenue.

Police say a jack and rocks were used to prop the car up, while the tires and rims were removed.

The tires and rims are valued at $650, and there was $200 in damage to a bumper.

In other police news:

  • A Shorewood woman called police to report a political sign had been thrown through a window on her home in the 2000 block of East Marion Street at 11:37 p.m. on Friday. Police are still gathering information on the incident.
  • A Shorewood woman reported her car broken into sometime between 5 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 15 while it was parked in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue. The driver side door was punctured underneath the lock to gain entry and a $250 Garmin GPS unit stolen from the car’s glove compartment. There was about $50 in damage.
  • A Shorewood woman called police to report her debit card was used to rack up $311 worth of fraudulent charges at several retail stores in Hobart, IN.
