Police Report: Milwaukee Teens Busted for Pot; Man Nabbed for Driving Stolen Car

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

Two 17-year-old Milwaukee boys were arrested Monday after police discovered marijuana during a traffic stop in the 3300 block of North Newhall Street.

Police say they found an orange prescription bottle containing traces of pot on the driver during an interview.

They later found a pot baggie in the back seat and more marijuana in the center console of the suspects' car.

Also in the police reports:

  • A 35-year-old Milwaukee man was taken into custody after police realized he was driving a stolen car during a traffic stop early Tuesday morning. The car had been reported stolen from Grand Chute, WI on March 23.
  • A Shorewood woman called police June 23 to report $1,269 worth of fraudulent charges to her Sam’s Club Discover Card. The card had been used three times in Brooklyn, NY.
  • Police were phoned Sunday after security at , 4145 N. Oakland Ave., noticed a person on surveillance video leaving the grocer with seven bottles of liquor, worth $144, without paying. Police are investigating the theft.
  • A Shorewood resident reported the theft of a $150 GPS unit and $10 worth of CDs from his car while it was parked in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue overnight on Sunday. It’s unclear whether the car was locked at the time, but police say there were no signs of forced entry.
  • Sometime between 3 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday, the word “SLUT” was scratched into the hood of a car and the driver’s side panel keyed while it was parked in the 4400 block of North Woodburn Street. The damage amounted $600.
