Police Report: Milwaukee Men Try to Resell Nearly $1,500 in DVDs Stolen from Blockbuster

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

Two Milwaukee men could face charges after they allegedly stole nearly $1,500 worth of DVDs from a video rental store in Shorewood and then tried to resell them at a used DVD store in Milwaukee.

Police say, the two men, 48 and 42, walked out of Blockbuster, 4108 N. Oakland Ave., with 54 videos around 9 p.m. on Tuesday and then tried to sell them at Mega Media Xchange on Milwaukee’s east side.

Shorewood police are recommending charges be filed.

Also in the police report:

  • fell victim to a couple gas drive offs and a retail theft this week. On Tuesday, one driver of a silver Volkswagen filled up with $30 worth of gasoline and left without paying. Another driver filled up with $50 worth of fuel on Wednesday and took off without paying. In addition, a 38-year-old Glendale man was arrested Tuesday after he asked for a $69 carton of Newport cigarettes and then left BP without paying.
  • Two Milwaukee teenagers, 17 and 18, were arrested Tuesday after police say they stole $16 worth of merchandise from , 4145 N. Oakland Ave.
  • Five men were cited after police found them on Atwater Beach after park hours, around midnight Wednesday.
