Police Report: Milwaukee Man Arrested for Theft of Makeup from Grocer

A 37-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Wednesday after he concealed and tried to walk out of , 4145 N. Oakland Ave., with two packages of Cover Girl makeup.

The makeup is valued at $32.

  • Police are looking for a driver who struck a car near the intersection of East Glendale Avenue and North Oakland Avenue on Monday and then fled the scene. The striking car was traveling south on Oakland Avenue and while making a right turn onto Glendale Avenue hit another car waiting at a stop sign. There was minor damage to the victim's car. 
  • A $300 pair of headphones were reported stolen from the visitor’s boys locker room during a varsity basketball game at , 1701 E. Capitol Dr. The theft occurred on Jan. 1, sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., the juvenile complaint told police. The victim says he didn’t immediately report the theft because he didn’t realize the headphones were missing immediately, and didn’t know who to report the theft to.
  • Another report of stolen property during a basketball game at the high school was reported Tuesday. A $250 8-gigabyte Apple iPod Touch was taken between 6:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. from the visitor’s locker room.
  • North Shore Firefighters put out a dumpster fire at Shorewood’s Citgo gas station, 1602 E. Capitol Dr., after a 911 call was placed. The dumpster contained plastic and metal material.
  • A wallet was reported stolen from , 3970 N. Oakland Ave., on Wednesday. A credit card from the wallet was used to make fraudulent charges locally. Police say they are still gathering more information on the fraud.
  • A suspect was arrested at , 3930 N. Murray Ave., Wednesday on an open warrant. Police declined to say what the suspect was wanted for.
  • Police took a 31-year-old Shorewood man into custody after he was seen walking in the 1200 block of East Capitol Drive on Wednesday, and his information was run through a database by a passing officer showing there was an open warrant for his arrest for a violation of probation. He was apprehended in the 4200 block of North Wilson Drive and later transported to the Milwaukee County Jail.
