Police Report: Milwaukee Man Arrested for Driving Drunk 4 Times Over Legal Limit

arrested a 48-year-old Milwaukee man Monday night for drunken driving with a blood alcohol content more than four times the legal limit.

Police received a report of a car driving recklessly near the intersection of East Capitol Drive and North Richland Court at 7:16 p.m. Police located the man in the area, and smelled alcohol on his breath during the traffic stop.

A Breathalyzer test revealed the man had a .33 blood alcohol content. It is the man’s first OWI offense.

In other police news:

  • Police arrested four Racine teenagers Saturday for possession of marijuana after police found marijuana blunts and loose pot in their car during a traffic stop. Police pulled over the teens in the 1500 block of East Capitol Drive around 9 p.m. after a officer noticed their high mount stop lamp wasn’t working. The officer smelled marijuana in the car during the stop and after a search found 2.7 grams of loose pot in the floor mat on the rear driver’s side and numerous smoked blunts. The teens were also cited for possession of marijuana.
  • A construction company's car was illegally entered Monday and several tools stolen. The car was unlocked and parked in the 800 block of East Glendale Avenue at the time of the theft, which occurred sometime between 7:50 and 8:15 a.m., police say. The owners of the stolen property told police they would soon provide a full list of items stolen and their value.
  • An unlocked car was illegally entered Sunday, while parked in the parking lot, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., around 8 p.m. Clothing and two bags of groceries were taken. Police are unsure how much the items were worth.
  • A Shorewood resident called police Monday to report $227 in fraudulent credit card charges from the online website, Lego Shop.
  • On Tuesday, a car traveling northbound in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue drove over a muffler in the road, causing damage to the underbody and mechanics of the car. The car had to be towed, and when it was lifted onto the tow bed, the muffler still wedged in the car, was forced into the rear bumper, causing more damage. No injuries were reported.
