Police Report: Resident Suspects Intruder(s) Routinely Enters His Shorewood Home

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

Police share a homeowner's concern that unknown actor(s) have been routinely illegally entering his home in the 1700 block of East Newton Avenue, and stealing items.

The resident told police they were away from their home for just short of a week and when they returned early Monday morning they noticed a pair of $500 ¼ ct. diamond earrings set in 18kt white gold were missing.

The resident says he has had several items disappear from his home over the last few months including a jar of coins and $30 in cash.

Police suspect the intruder is coming in through a bedroom window, which the homeowner says he just recently noticed has a broken lock.

  • A 16gb Apple iPhone 4S was reported taken Monday from a purse in a computer lab at , 3830 N. Morris Blvd. The phone is valued at $200.
  • A $210 iPod and iPod adaptor were reported stolen Tuesday when two unlocked cars parked in a driveway in the 2400 block of East Shorewood Boulevard were illegally entered. The entry occurred sometime between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., police say.
  • A Pewaukee man called Shorewood police Wednesday because he feared two men he owed money to. Police say the man voluntarily drove two men to his brother’s Shorewood home in the 2500 block of East Menlo Boulevard and told them he would go inside to grab the money he owed them. Instead, he called police and they came and detained the men, releasing them a short time later.
  • A bicyclist was transported to a local hospital Wednesday after colliding with a moving car near the intersection of East Menlo Boulevard and North Oakland Avenue around 5:30 p.m.
