Police Report: Home Break-in; Stolen Car Recovered

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

A home in the 2600 block of East Shorewood Boulevard was illegally entered sometime between 4 p.m. on Sunday and 12:15 p.m. on Monday, but nothing was taken, according to police.

A tool was used to cut the screen of a window to gain entry to the home. Police say there was about $200 in damage to the window.

  • An 18-year-old West Allis man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia Monday after he was found trespassing onto a private beach with four juveniles. Police say they responded to an initial report of the group on a privately-owned beach in the 3900 block of North Lake Drive at 5:30 p.m.
  • The window was removed from a car and a $150 stereo stolen in a car break-in sometime overnight on Wednesday. The car was parked in a municipal parking lot in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue when the break-in occurred. There was about $100 worth of damage to the window.
  • Police say they have recovered a 2005 Nissan Murano 4-door SUV on Friday that was reported stolen from the parking lot, 3920 N. Murray Ave., sometime overnight on Wednesday. It's unclear where the vehicle was located and in what condition.
  • A Shorewood woman wasn’t arrested or cited for a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Monday in the 3900 block of North Murray Avenue. Police say the woman sideswiped a parked car on the block around 12:55 p.m., stopped briefly and then left the scene of the accident. On Wednesday, police spotted a car matching a description of the vehicle believed to have left the scene with minor passenger-side damage. Police say the driver admitted to being in the area, and admitted her side mirror struck something, but wasn’t sure what.
