Police Report: Florida Man Walks into Shorewood Police Station Carrying Marijuana

A 22-year-old Florida man walked into the Shorewood police station to pay parking tickets Thursday, but quickly found himself in handcuffs after officers discovered the man had an open warrant for his arrest and found narcotics and prescription pills on his person.

While executing the warrant issued by Greendale police for operating with a suspended license, police found a found a small amount of marijuana and a blue tablet, which tested positive for Oxycodone, on the man.

He was cited for possession and detained on the warrant.

  • A thief broke into an unlocked 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sunday night, and along with causing $300 in damage to the windshield, bit a chuck out of a moldy sandwich, the car owner told police. The car was rummaged through, but nothing was taken.
  • Police arrested a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman for drunken driving early Thursday morning at three times the legal limit. The suspect was observed driving with a flat tire around 2:30 a.m. and when pulled over, police say she had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. She failed a sobriety test and had a .24 blood alcohol content.
  • A car stereo was stolen in a car break-in sometime between Wednesday and 1 p.m. on Thursday in the 3900 block of North Maryland Avenue. The car radio is valued at $300.
  • The manager of , 4081 N. Oakland Ave., asked a Walker recall petitioner to move off the retailer’s property after several customers complained on Thursday. The same day, a Walker recall petitioner says a man bumped into him and “grumbled about his political beliefs” while he was standing outside of , 4145 N. Oakland Ave. Additionally, a Shorewood woman phoned police Thursday to report her Walker recall yard sign had been stolen from her home in the 4300 block of North Alpine Avenue, sometime between 7 a.m. and noon.
  • A Shorewood woman phoned police Friday after she retrieved the purse she forgot at , 2205 E. Capitol Dr., but noticed $80, her driver’s license, credit card and debit card were missing. She said she just wanted to inform police in case a follow-up was necessary for identity theft or fraudulent charges.
  • The , 4121 N. Wilson Dr., says $280 was taken from the business in a burglary around 9:49 Thursday morning. The business believes the burglary occurred while an employee was working outside, police say.
  • A man filled up a Toyota Camry with $3.59 worth of gasoline at , 1513 E. Capitol Dr., Thursday and left without paying. Police have been unable to locate the man.
  • A credit card was reported stolen Dec. 13 after a car was illegally entered while parked in the attached garage of a home in the 4000 block of North Richland Court. The car was unlocked at the time and no other damage was reported.
  • A Shorewood resident called police Dec. 13 when he found a Christmas card in his mailbox in the 3600 block of North Morris Boulevard had been opened. The victim told police he thinks someone was looking for money in the card.
  • A Shorewood woman called police Dec. 13 to inform them she was the victim of $879 in fraudulent charges to her credit card. She said her email address and street address had also been changed and someone attempted to have her credit line increased.
  • A recycling container was reported stolen Dec. 13 from the backyard of a home in the 3900 block of North Maryland Avenue. The container had been missing for several months.
