Police Report: Drunken Driving; Theft From Car; Stolen Bicycle
A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.
A 41-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for operating while intoxicated early Monday morning, after someone called phoned because he was blocking a driveway in the 3900 block of North Frederick Avenue as he dropped off a friend.
Police ended up pulling him over in the 1800 block of East Capitol Drive. He had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol, according to the report.
He failed a sobriety test and had a 0.15 blood alcohol content police say. It was the man’s first drunken driving offense.

Also in the police report:
- A resident came into the police station Tuesday to report a theft on Aug. 9 between 3 and 4 p.m. of a $750 iPad2 and $150 iPod Touch from her house in the 2000 block of East Newton Avenue.
- A gold-and-diamond ring was reported stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1900 block of East Shorewood Boulevard between Aug. 6 and Friday. The resident said someone might have entered her home while she was in the hospital over the past few weeks.
- A $5 flashlight was reported stolen from a car parked in the 3700 block of North Prospect Avenue Tuesday. The car owner told police the theft occurred sometime between 6 and 6:45 p.m. and the car window was open.
- Police were called to , 4081 N. Oakland Ave., Tuesday after receiving a report of two men going to the garbage outside, looking for receipts. The men admitted to looking for receipts when police arrived and said they could get a cut of the money if they gave the receipts to some people they know who would steal an item from Walgreens and later return it with a receipt they found.
- A $100 black, red and gray Trek bicycle was reported stolen Tuesday from the backyard of a house in the 1600 block of East Olive Street.
The above items are from reports from the Shorewood Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
