Police Report: Drunken Driving Arrest; Authorities Looking for 2 Who Left Clothing at Scene

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

A 32-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested early Friday morning after police performed a traffic stop for driving without headlights and found her to be intoxicated.

During the traffic stop in the 4000 block of North Morris Boulevard at 2:25 a.m., police say they smelled alcohol and marijuana coming from the car. The woman admitted to smoking pot about an hour before the stop.

She failed a sobriety test performed on the scene. Police are waiting on the results of a blood test to determine her blood alcohol level at the time of the stop.

  • Police are trying to make contact with two individuals who left their shoes and pants near 20 hosta plants that were damaged in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue Sunday. The pants contained a wallet with a driver’s license belonging to one suspect, a debit card belonging to the other suspect and $85 in cash.
  • Eyewitnesses told police they saw a man attempting to break into a home in the 4000 block of North Morris Boulevard at 8:35 p.m. Friday. The man removed the storm window, doing about $80 in damage, but didn’t gain entry.
  • The property manager of a building in the 1400 block of East Capitol Drive called police Sunday to report that sometime overnight on Thursday, the building’s laundry room was broken into. Damage to the laundry room door totaled $100. Nothing was reported stolen.
  • Police are investigating a fraud case in which a person forged a prescription for pills. No other information was available as of Monday morning.
  •  A $125 boy’s BMX bicycle was reported stolen from a backyard of a home in the 4500 block of North Larkin Street on Sunday.
