Police Report: Drunken Driver, Counterfeit $20 Bill

A 49-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for first offense drunken driving Tuesday night.

Police pulled the man over at 8:55 p.m. in the 3900 block of North Morris Boulevard after they say he ran a stop sign in the area. During the stop, police say the driver smelled of alcohol and slurred his speech. He failed field sobriety tests and police later found an open bottle of beer in the car.

The man was also cited for running the stop sign and the open bottle of alcohol.

Also in the police report:

  • A Shorewood woman called police Thursday morning to report she had received a $20 counterfeit bill from an ATM machine. She told police she got the bill from a machine in the BP gas station, 1513 E. Capitol Dr., and tried to use it there, when a cashier told her it was a fake. The bill was turned over to Shorewood police.
  • A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested Thursday night after police say she concealed $24 worth of personal hygiene items and left Pick ‘n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., without paying. Police tracked down and arrested the woman in the 4000 block of North Oakland Avenue.
