Police Report: Car Window Smashed Out with Concrete Brick; Retail Theft; Bicycle Theft

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

Nothing was reported stolen from a 2003 Volkswagen Golf Friday after the rear hatch window was smashed out using a piece of concrete.

The car was parked in the 4200 block of the Estabrook Parkway around 6 p.m., when the concrete brick was thrown through the window, causing $600 in damage to the car.

  • A resident was sitting in the lawn of her house in the 4100 block of North Newhall Avenue when she heard a crash in her garage. She jumped up to investigate when someone rode out the garage and down the driveway on her $500 Trek bicycle, according to the report. The bicycle was unlocked in the garage.
  • A 52-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Sunday after police say he walked out of , 4081 N. Oakland Ave., without paying for $39 worth of shampoo, conditioner and make-up.
  • An unlocked $100 Trek 800 was reported stolen from , 1701 E. Capitol Dr., sometime between 2:50 and 4 p.m. on Thursday.
  • More than $100 worth of items were reported stolen Friday from a unsecured locker in the men’s locker room at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Dr. Among the items stolen were $80 in cash, a $30 black wallet, driver’s license and credit card.
  • A Shorewood man called police Sunday after he says his girlfriend bit him on the face while he was sleeping at his house in the 2000 block of East Marion Avenue. He didn’t want to press charges and declined medical attention, police say.

The above items are from reports from the Shorewood Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
