Police Report: Car Fire, Retail Theft

Police and firefighters arrived at a home in the 1900 block of East Jarvis Street Tuesday to find a white Pontiac Firebird engulfed in flames.

Fire personnel were able to put the fire out but the vehicle was later declared a total loss.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.

Also in the police report:

• A 53-year-old man and 57-year-old man, both from Milwaukee, were arrested Tuesday after police say they concealed $118 worth of meat and deodorant under a sweatshirt and left , 4145 N. Oakland Ave., without paying.

• About $600 worth of construction material were reported stolen Wednesday from a home in the 1800 block of East Lake Bluff. Police say there were no eyewitnesses.

• A $50 2009 yellow and blue Magnum bicycle was reported stolen Tuesday from an underground parking garage in the 1900 block of East Capitol Drive.
