Police Report: Burglary, Retail Theft, Attempted Theft

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

After being away for two days, a Shorewood resident returned to his house in the 2100 block of East Marion Street Friday, to find his door open and home burglarized.

The home was entered through an unlocked patio door between 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and 1:30 a.m. Friday and a $50 radio, $500 iMac laptop, $30 backpack, $300 Sony PlayStation 3 and $100 keys to an Acura were reported stolen.

  • A 43-year Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft Sunday after police say he walked out of , 4145 N. Oakland Ave., with 20 items worth $115.
  • A 39-year-old woman and 26-year-old woman, both from Milwaukee, were arrested Sunday for retail theft, after police say they concealed 10 bottles of liquor in two bags and walked out of Pick ‘n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., without paying. The alcohol was valued at $168.
  • A resident in the 3600 block of North Lake Drive reported $200 in damage to a copper downspout Sunday. Police say it appears to be an attempted theft.
  • A $50 plant and plant stand were reported stolen Friday, from a front yard of a home in the 1600 block of East Kenmore Place. The property owner told police the theft occurred sometime between 8:30 a.m. on Thursday and 6:15 p.m. and Friday.
  • A plaster wall was damaged Sunday at a duplex in the 4000 block of North Downer Avenue around 9:41 p.m. Police say the wall was dented and cracked from blunt force from an unknown tool causing $200 in damage.
