Police Report: Burglary of Home Under Renovation Nets Copper Pipe, Fittings

Items from the files of the Shorewood Police Department over the previous week also include a liquor theft and a stolen bike.

A home under renovation was burglarized over the weekend in Shorewood, the latest in a series of burglaries from the last two months.

Sometime between 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, someone removed copper pipes and copper fittings from a home under renovation in the 2100 block of East Beverly Road. It’s unknown whether the home was locked or the full value of the items stolen, and the incident remains under investigation.

Shorewood residents and police have heightened awareness after 11 burglaries in Shorewood in the last two months, as well as others along the North Shore. In most of those cases perpetrators entered an unlocked home — sometimes with residents there — and stole wallets, laptops and related items.
