Police Report: Two Shorewood Teenagers Arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Alcohol

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

Two 17-year-old Shorewood boys were arrested Saturday night after police found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, tobacco and alcohol in their car during a traffic stop.

At about midnight, police noticed the teenagers driving without their headlights on in the 4000 block of North Wilson Drive, and eventually made a traffic stop in the 1200 block of East Kenmore Place.

Police say they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car during the stop, and a search of the car revealed marijuana leafs on the floor and center console, a pipe with marijuana residue, blue prescription pill bottle containing pot, a pack of cigarettes and a bottle of Jim Beam. Β

In addition to the drug citations, the driver was cited for operating with a suspended license. The passenger was cited for possession of alcohol and tobacco underage.

  • Security at , 4145 N. Oakland Ave., were able to stop a 74-year-old Milwaukee before he could leave with a $18.99 bottle of liquor, and police could arrive. He was subsequently arrested. Police say he purchased some bakery items, but tried to walk out of the store with the alcohol concealed.
  • A Shorewood man says he was scammed during an exchange of vehicle wheels for money, when he attempted to cash a check at , 4015 N. Oakland Ave. Police say the check was connected to a non-existent account.
  • A 16-year-old Shorewood boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after he refused to follow computer rules at the , 3920 N. Murray Ave., and became offensive when asked to leave by library staff and police. The incident occurred at 3:15 p.m.
