Police Report: 2 Homes Burglarized; Vehicle Break-in

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police log.

Police cited a 38-year-old Milwaukee man on Monday for theft after they say he walked into a Shorewood home under construction and took a blue tarp.

The home in the 3600 block of North Murray Avenue recently had damage from a fire and repairs were being made. Police say the man walked in and grabbed the tarp, but as he tried to leave the scene in his car, a police officer driving past stopped him for expired license plates.

That’s when a contractor came out of the home to tell the officer the man had taken the tarp.
