Police Report: 2 Car Break-ins This Week

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police log.

Two cars were broken into this week, according to Shorewood police.

The rear passenger window was busted out of a car while parked in the 3500 block of North Downer Avenue on Wednesday night. It occurred sometime between 6 and 7:45 p.m. and a black iPhone 4 and red iPod, with a combined value of $630, were taken.

On Thursday morning, two computers were taken from an unlocked car parked in the 3200 block of North Newhall Street. It occurred sometime between 2 and 6:30 a.m. Police say the computers had no value, as they were basically scrap.

Also in the police reports:

  • Police cited a man for possession of marijuana Wednesday after they say he was found unconscious on the steps of a Shorewood home. At 6:02 p.m. police found the man unconscious near North Newhall Street and East Kensington Boulevard. Police woke the man, and say he appeared highly intoxicated. Following a search, police say they found 0.7 grams of marijuana on his person. He was transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
  • Police say they received a report a $10 being stolen from a person’s purse at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Dr., on Tuesday.
