Shorewood police have arrested and are recommending charges be filed against a 58-year-old Milwaukee man in connection with six illegal entries to cars overnight on Dec. 28.
According to the police log, the six cars were hit sometime between 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 11 a.m. on Dec. 29. All of the cars were unlocked at the time of the illegal entries.
Three cars were entered in the 3900 block of North Stowell Avenue, two in the 4100 block of Stowell Avenue and another in the 4000 block of North Bartlett Avenue.
Stolen items including $50 men’s gloves, a $150 Garmin GPS unit and $65 jacket were recovered following the man's arrest, according to police.
However, a $150 Blackberry cell phone, $10 charger, $500 in CDs and about $10 in change were not.
The arrest comes in the wake of a rash of car break-ins of the village.
The man is not suspected in another illegal entry sometime overnight on Dec. 27 to a car parked in a lot in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue. The car was unlocked and $2 in coins was taken.
The man has not been charged as of Friday, according to online court records.
