Police Searching for Suspect after Armed Robbery Tuesday Night

Victim told police a man approached him, pulled out an semi-automatic handgun, and demanded he hand over property near East Wood Place and North Newhall Street.

Police are looking for one suspect, after a man was robbed at gunpoint near Pick 'n Save in Shorewood Tuesday night.

At approximately 6:35 p.m., the victim was walking west through the grocery store parking lot, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., when he saw the suspect driving through the lot, according to police. 

The victim continued west down East Wood Place to North Newhall Street when the suspect approached him, pulled out a semi-automatic handgun, and demanded he hand over property. It's unclear whether property was taken.

The suspect then fled on foot eastbound toward Pick 'n Save. 

The suspect is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, medium build, in his 20s, with a short beard and mustache. He was wearing a black hooded jacket with the hood up, blue jeans, and may have been wearing a black bandana around his neck.

He was driving an older pick-up truck with a cap over the bed, unknown make, black in color. The truck may have had an extended bed.
