Police: Attempted Robbery Near UWM Campus Monday Night

Victim told police a white male approached him while walking in the 3500 block of North Downer Avenue, stuck a sharp object in his back, and asked him what he had on him.

A Shorewood man told police Monday night he was the victim of an attempted robbery in the 3500 block of North Downer Avenue.

According to the police report, the victim was walking southbound on Downer Avenue sometime between 9:55 and 10:20 p.m., when a white male approached him, pointed a sharp object at his back, and asked him what he had on him.

The victim said he didn’t have anything but keys, and after the suspect searched him and came up empty-handed, he fled on foot southbound.
