Police Arrest Milwaukee Woman for Fraudulent Narcotics Prescription

Suspicious pharmacist at a local drug store phoned police after doctor confirmed he didn't write prescription.

A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested Thursday after she attempted to obtain narcotics from a local pharmacy with a fraudulent prescription, police say.

According to the police report, a pharmacist at Family Pharmacy, 3512 N. Oakland Ave., became suspicious after the woman walked in with a prescription for oxycodone and Valium signed by a doctor who typically doesn't prescribe narcotics.

The pharmacist called the prescribing doctor who said he hadn’t written the prescription. Police believe the woman stole a prescription pad from a doctor’s office to write the fraudulent prescription.
